In the roaring workshops of steel mills, rolls of steel coils weighing tens of tons await transport. Traditional wire rope hoisting is not only inefficient but also easily leaves indentations on the surface of the coils. Forklift handling is limited by aisle width, and the coil edges can be easily scratched if not handled with caution. However, the emergence of C-type steel coil hoisting equipment, with its ingenious "C-shaped embrace", has equipped steel coil handling with an "efficiency engine", making it the golden C position in heavy industrial workshops.
"C-Shaped Hook": A Design Revolution from "Hard Lifting" to "Clever Lifting"
The core of the C-Shaped Hoist lies in its innovative "C-Shaped Hook + Leverage" structure: The sturdy C-shaped hook arm, like the arm of a giant steel, "hugs" around the inner ring of the steel coil and lifts it. Leveraging the coil's own weight, it achieves "self-locking" and ensures stable lifting without the need for additional lashing.
This design is naturally suited to the cylindrical shape of steel coils:
Zero-Damage Grasping: A wear-resistant rubber or polyurethane buffer layer is used on the contact surface with the steel coil to prevent traditional wire rope "rubbing" and forklift "scratching," preserving the steel coil's surface finish (especially suitable for precision cold-rolled and galvanized coils);
Wide Aperture Compatibility: The C-shaped hook arm has an opening width of 1.5-3 meters, easily covering the inner diameter of mainstream steel coils from Φ500 mm to Φ2000 mm, allowing a single coil to accommodate multiple sizes;
Lightweight Load Capacity: Forged from Q 345 B or higher-strength alloy steel, it is 20% lighter than traditional lifters, yet has a rated load of 5-50 tons (the "10 t" lift in the image can easily lift 10-ton steel coils). Unlimited Scenario: The "All-Rounder" for Coil Handling
From the "red-hot coils" of the hot rolling mill to the "finished coils" of the storage area, the C-type lifter's adaptability in multiple scenarios makes it a core piece of equipment for steel companies:
Metallurgical Production Line: Available on-call next to the continuous rolling mill, it hoists freshly rolled coils (temperature ≤ 200°C), enabling "second-by-second" transfers in sync with the production line's cycle time;
Warehousing and Logistics: Shuttles through warehouses or storage yards, grabbing and stacking coils, replacing the traditional "overhead crane + manual hooking" model and increasing efficiency by three times;
Processing Shop: Precision-dropping coils next to the slitting and shearing lines, smoothly feeding coils into the production line and eliminating the safety hazards of manual handling (as shown in the image, a worker can simply remotely control the coil docking).
